Here's how a book comes to life!
Below are some of the sketches I used to create the "D is for Dog" page of The Skull Alphabet Book.
Step 1: The roughest of "rough" sketches. Here's where I take my idea and begin drawing some ideas to get a feel for how they look on paper.
Step 2: I try a few more options, making sure there's space for the text. You can't have an alphabet book without the alphabet! :)
Step 3: I begin to clean up the rough sketch...
Step 4: Here's where I try some more elements, like the addition of the dog bowl.
